## What Plotline does

Plotline solves the problem of travel inspiration getting lost in social media saved folders. You share a TikTok, Instagram Reel, YouTube video, blog post, or Google Maps link to Plotline via the iOS share sheet. The app automatically extracts every place mentioned — names, locations, categories, and the creator's tip about each spot — and drops pins on your interactive travel map. A single "10 things to do in Paris" reel creates 10 individual pins, each with the inside scoop from the video attached.

## Key features

- **One-tap social import**: Share from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, Yelp, Tripadvisor, or any website via the iOS share sheet. Every place mentioned gets extracted and pinned automatically.
- **Instagram DM saving**: Connect your Instagram account once at getplotline.app/connect, then DM a Reel to @plotline.app the way you would send it to a friend. Every place named in the Reel is extracted and pinned to your map without leaving Instagram. Reels work, including cross-posts carrying a TikTok or YouTube link; carousels and slideshows do not, because Instagram does not pass a link for those, so they go through the iOS share sheet instead.
- **Multi-place extraction**: One video mentioning 10 places creates 10 pins, each with the creator's tip saved alongside.
- **Map-first design**: Every saved place lives on an interactive map, color-coded by category (eat, brew, sip, explore, vibe, stay, shop, go, party). Filter saved places by city, category, vibe or mood, and source.
- **Collections & collaborators**: Organize places into collections like "CDMX 2026" or "Tokyo ramen tour" and invite friends as collaborators so everyone's finds land on the same shared map.
- **Sidequests (spontaneous single-day auto-routing)**: Pick a vibe, swipe through your saved spots plus community gems, and Plotline connects the chosen places into an auto-optimized, routed plan for the day — with each stop's local tip attached.
- **Trending**: See what other Plotline travelers are saving right now wherever you point the map, shown as community pins and as a ranked list. Each place shows how many travelers saved it and carries the original tip from the post it came from, so discovery is based on what people actually save rather than star ratings.
- **Home base (hotel anchor)**: Set the hotel or place you are staying as the trip anchor. It is pinned on the map, the generated itinerary is sequenced outward from it, and every stop shows its distance and travel time from where you are sleeping.
- **Automatic trip planning**: Pick a destination and your dates (1–14 days), a pace (Chill, Balanced, or Packed), and the vibes you want, and Plotline generates a day-by-day itinerary with optimized routes, built from your saved places plus recommendations where you have not saved enough. Each stop keeps the creator's tip attached. The first trip plan is free; Plotline Premiere unlocks unlimited plans. You can also build a trip by hand instead.
- **Collaborative trip planning**: Invite friends to a trip as editors or viewers. Anyone can add a stop to any day and the whole crew's itinerary updates live, with a shared editable note per stop. Collaboration is free: inviting people to a trip and joining someone else's are both ungated.
- **Inside scoop / References**: Each place keeps the reference to the creator and post it came from, so you can rewatch the source and remember why you saved it.
- **Notes and note-search**: Add your own note to any place. Search matches your notes, not just place names.
- **Smart collections**: Favourites and Visited are derived automatically from what you mark, alongside the Collections you create yourself.
- **Cities view**: Saved places group themselves by city with no tagging required.
- **Place details**: Opening hours, price level, photos, and ratings are attached to each place.
- **Offline reading**: Saved places stay readable without a connection.
- **Must-see locks**: Pin chosen places so trip generation keeps them.
- **Mutual places**: See which places you and another traveler have both saved.
- **Public profiles and following**: Find friends and follow other travelers.
- **Web share links**: Share a Collection, trip, or single place as a link viewable without the app.
- **Referrals**: Give two weeks of Plotline Premiere, get two weeks.
- **Manual entry and in-app search**: Add places you did not find on social media.

Free to download and use on iOS (App Store). The free tier covers saving places, the full map with categories and filters, Collections including shared Collections, Trending, notes and favourites, offline reading, and a first trip plan. Plotline Premiere is $9.99/month or $49.99/year in the US and adds unlimited daily saves, unlimited trip plans, Sidequests, and Instagram DM saving. Collaboration is not gated: the free trip plan can be co-edited with friends, and joining someone else's trip is always free. ## Languages

The marketing site is published in six languages. English stays at the root and
each locale sits under its own prefix, with hreflang alternates declared on every
